NGA Launches Accreditation Pilot for GEOINT AI Models

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has made significant progress in the development of AI-driven tools and systems for military applications, with Maven being an NGA program of record since its introduction nine years ago. Another key AI program of record is ASPEN, which began in May last year and works to monitor global behavioral changes, updating and warning U.S. officials as necessary. Despite the successes achieved through these programs, challenges still remain. These include friction between DOD contractors and government personnel, and skepticism surrounding AI's utility for artillery fires.
