Antonelli confirms car number he wants to use for start of Formula 1 career

Kimi Antonelli, the newly announced driver for Mercedes in 2025, has revealed his preference for car number 12. Antonelli used this number during his successful Italian and ADAC F4 titles in 2022, as well as the Middle East and European Formula Regional crowns last year. The young driver, who made his F1 weekend debut with Mercedes during practice for the Italian Grand Prix, expressed excitement about joining the team and driving alongside George Russell. For the rest of the year, Antonelli will continue to drive previous F1 machinery as part of a TPC (Testing of Previous Cars) programme formed by Mercedes, while also seeing out his rookie season in Formula 2.
